Where is the Symposium being held?
The Symposium is taking place in the Science Building of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Inverleith Row, Edinburgh EH3 5LR.
Please note: The Science Building cannot be accessed from within the Botanic Garden. Access is via Inverleith Row only.
Is the venue accessible?
The Lecture Theatre and Conference room are fully wheelchair accessible and accessible toilets are available in the Science Building. For more information, see Venue and Accessibility.
Does the venue have parking?
The venue does not have its own car park and we suggest using public transport where possible. There is limited metered parking and blue badge parking for up to 9 hours in nearby streets. Bicycle stands are available.

What catering will be provided?
Lunch and refreshments will be provided with vegetarian and vegan options. Please make sure you provide your dietary requirements when booking your ticket.
Does the venue have luggage storage facilities?
There is very limited space for luggage storage, so you are encouraged to travel light. All items are left at the owner's risk.
What time does the event start and end?
Day 1 (Tuesday 10 February 2026) runs 9am - 5pm.
Day 2 (Wednesday 11 February 2026) runs 9am - 3pm.

What is your Privacy Policy?
You can find details of our Privacy Notice at the foot of this page. Our full Privacy Policy can be obtained on request from the Executive Director.
What is your policy on photography?
Photographs and/or video will be taken at this event. If you are a delegate and don’t wish to be photographed, please collect a coloured sticker at registration and wear it prominently.
If you are presenting at the symposium, you grant the event organisers full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the partnership's aims. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in their printed and online publicity, and social media. If you have results and conclusions that you do not wish to be shared, we recommend not including them in your presentation/poster.
The event organisers cannot be held responsible for other delegates taking photographs or videos at this event.

How much do tickets cost?
A standard ticket for both days is £95. Early-bird tickets (available until Friday 5 December 2025) are £75.
How do I register?
You can register for the symposium via the Registration page.
When is the early-bird deadline?
The early-bird deadline to register for the symposium is 23:59 Friday 5 December 2025.
When is the final deadline to register?
The final deadline to register for the symposium is 23:59 on Monday 12 January 2026. The event organisers reserve the right to close registrations early if we reach capacity.
Does my ticket cover attendance for both days of the symposium?
Yes. See the prices for each ticket type on the Registration page
Can I book for one day only?
Your ticket gives you access to the Symposium on both days. We do not have a one-day option to book tickets, but if you are only planning to attend on one day, you can let us know during the booking process.
Can I book for a group?
You may book up to 4 tickets per transaction. Please ensure you provide dietary and access requirements of each person in your group when you book.
How do I cancel my registration?
You can cancel your registration via the Eventbrite registration page. If you are having problems cancelling, please contact Cathy Rose.
What is your cancellation policy?
If the Symposium is cancelled by the organiser, all delegates receive 100% refund. Otherwise, our standard cancellation policy applies:
● Delegates cancelling on or before 29.12.25 receive 100% refund.
● Delegates cancelling between 30.12.25 and 12.1.26 receive 50% refund.
● Delegates cancelling on or after 13.1.26 receive no refund.
Do you provide discounted ticket rates?
No. However there is an early-bird rate if you register before Friday 5 December 2025.
Can I attend virtually?
No, this is not a hybrid event. Attendance is in-person only.
Will there be a livestream of the event or videos of the sessions released afterwards?
The event will not be recorded, but we may make slides available after the event (subject to speakers' permission).
Are accommodation and travel included in the ticket price?
Accommodation and travel are not included in the ticket price. You will need to book your own accommodation, and arrange your own travel. See Travel and Accommodation.

How do I register to give a talk / present a poster?
You can apply to give a talk and/or present a poster with a deadline of Friday 14 November at 17:00 GMT. Successful applicants will be informed in December. See Call for Submissions for more information.
Can I edit my submission?
Yes, you will be sent an email confirming your submission, with a link to edit it if required.
