Resilient Landscapes and Seas Symposium 2026:

Call for submissions

The deadline for completing the form is: 17:00 GMT Friday 14 November 2025

You don't need to be an RLAS Partner to submit, but the project you present should work at a landscape scale (>500ha).

The Resilient Landscapes and Seas Symposium 2026: Collaborating at scale for nature and people aims to build a more cohesive community around landscape-scale transformation, sharing knowledge and best practice, connecting projects across the UK and providing mutual support.

The Symposium will take place on Tuesday 10 - Wednesday 11 February 2026, at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh and will include themed presentation sessions across the two days:

  • Working at Scale

  • Working in Partnership

  • Engaging and Involving Communities and Landowners

  • Funding for Landscape-Scale Projects

  • A Vision for the Future

We are seeking submissions for:

  • Themed Session Talks - 20 minutes (incl. 5 min Q&A) with slides

  • Short Talks - 10 minutes (no Q&A), with or without slides

  • Posters (A0 portrait format)  - displayed on both days with a dedicated session on Tuesday 10 February.

Spaces are limited and we expect to receive more proposals than we can accommodate, so proposing a talk or poster does not guarantee inclusion in the Symposium programme. You may submit abstracts for all three format options, but successful applicants will only be invited to present one talk or a poster.

There is no fee for submitting a proposal for a talk or a poster. However, it is expected that all speakers and poster presenters will register to attend the Symposium and pay for their own ticket (standard price £95 for both days, early-bird £75 before 5 December), travel and accommodation.

Deadline: 14 November 2025

Assessment of submissions: Late November 2025

Notification to successful applicants: Early December 2025
