Rachel Blount is a Landscape Ecologist at Nattergal, where she leads habitat restoration design and biodiversity monitoring across the company’s wildland sites. Nattergal is a nature restoration organisation working at scale to reinstate natural processes on degraded land while generating financial returns. Rachel’s work bridges ecological science and practical land management, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes for nature recovery.
Before joining Nattergal, Rachel worked in ecological consultancy, most recently at AtkinsRéalis, where she led Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) delivery for major infrastructure projects and chaired the company’s internal BNG network. She is a Full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and contributes to sector-wide knowledge sharing through her role in the CIEEM Ecological Restoration and Habitat Creation Special Interest Group.
