EXEC’S CORNER Welcome to the April issue of our two-monthly e-newsletter. Spring is very much with us and reflected in the header image above from the Loughgall long-term agroforestry experiment in Northern Ireland. This LTE is one of the most recent additions to the ECT’s national register of over 80 sites in all, and is only the second LTE in Northern Ireland to be registered with us. Loughgall is also one of two agroecological experiments to join our network in the past 18 months, the other being the Tulloch agroecology rotational trials LTE in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Both now have brand new dedicated pages on the ECT website which you can read more about in this issue. These two experiments address increasingly important issues at the interface between agriculture and ecology, helping us to understand how we can both feed the nation and sustain biodiversity and ecosystem services at the same time. Bringing the agricultural and ecological communities together for closer dialogue is being helped by the regenerative agriculture (RA) movement, and it is with that very much in mind that ECT will be participating in two significant RA events this summer which you can read more about further below. Long-term experiments have much to contribute in this area. Ben Sykes
